Programs

Guilford College, Greensboro, North Carolina

Each week at EFM is filled with music and discovery. Our two Young Artists orchestras bring together talented young musicians under the guidance of renowned conductors and coaches to explore major works of the orchestral repertoire. These performances light up the magnificent Dana Auditorium on the Guilford College campus, thrilling musicians and audiences alike.

Beyond the Orchestra

Expand your artistry. Connect with your community.

At EFM, your musical experience reaches far beyond orchestral rehearsals. A vibrant concert calendar brings students, faculty, and guest artists together for a summer of discovery and inspiration—from artist-faculty performances and Saturday Eastern Festival Orchestra concerts to weekly piano recitals and special mixed-ensemble programs celebrating featured composers.

Find inspiration. Develop your voice.
Learn through private study with a faculty member, masterclasses, and seminars and workshops that deepen your understanding of music and performance. Students can also enter the Concerto Competition for the opportunity to perform as a featured soloist.

Explore greater freedom in performance.
Optional Alexander Technique lessons with Dr. Shawn Copeland, a certified teacher and Body Mapping educator, help musicians recognize habits, release unnecessary tension, and explore greater ease in their playing. Separate enrollment is required, and spaces are limited.

Share your music beyond the concert hall.
Connect with audiences through outreach concerts across Greensboro and the Piedmont Triad. These performances are an essential part of the EFM experience, giving students opportunities to bring music into the community and grow as performers.
