Christopher Davis

Christopher P. Davis is a highly sought-after orchestral player, with over a decade of experience performing and recording with various orchestras across the United States and abroad. He has performed with orchestras in Buffalo, Cincinnati, Chicago, Cleveland, Colorado, Detroit, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Utah, and St. Paul.

From 2013 to 2022, Christopher was a faculty member at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music. During his tenure, his chamber ensembles won top prizes in the Emory Remington Trombone Choir Competition in 2017 and the International Trombone Association Trombone Quartet Competition in 2018 and 2022. Since then, Christopher has relocated to Europe, where he has performed with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Berner Symphony Orchestra, Symphonie Orchestra Biel/Solothurn, Neues Orchester Basel, Basel Sinfonietta, and the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra. He is currently the Bass Trombonist of the Swiss Orchestra in Andermatt, Switzerland, where he can be heard on various recordings.

Christopher has presented masterclasses and recitals both nationally and internationally. He has performed as a guest artist at the Isla Verde Bronces Brass Festival (Argentina) and Hochschule Luzerne (Switzerland), and has given performances at the American Trombone Workshop, Texas State University–San Marcos, Western Carolina University, Michigan State University, Texas Christian University, University of Arkansas, Eastern Illinois University, Snow College, and Illinois Wesleyan University.

Christopher received his Bachelor of Music from Illinois Wesleyan University and his Master of Music and Literature from Northwestern University, where he studied with Dr. Thomas Streeter, Michael Mulcahy, Charles Vernon, and Randall Hawes. He is a proud faculty member at the Eastern Festival of Music in Greensboro, North Carolina. Christopher currently resides in Bern, Switzerland, with his wife and daughter.
