Amber Dean

Amber Dean enjoys an active career as a horn player and teacher throughout Florida. She is currently the principal horn of Palm Beach Symphony and fourth horn and faculty horn teacher at Eastern Festival of Music in Greensboro, NC. She frequently performs with all the major Florida orchestras including The Florida Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony, Naples Philharmonic, Orlando Philharmonic, and Sarasota Orchestra. In addition, she has performed with Atlantic Classical Orchestra, Boca Symphonia, Miami City Ballet, Mozart Orchestra of New York, Orchestra Miami, Opera Naples, Quad City Symphony, St. Pete Opera, South Florida Symphony, and Symphony of the Americas, among others.


She previously held the position of principal horn in Florida Grand Opera from 2020–2025 and fourth horn in Sarasota Orchestra during the 2023–2024 season. In Mexico, she played with two of its major orchestras as second horn in the Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco from 2015–2019 and third horn in the Orquesta Sinfónica Sinaloa de las Artes from 2012–2015.


In addition to her orchestral work, Amber was adjunct professor of horn at Florida International University for the 2024–2025 school year. She is also in high demand as a masterclass clinician and coach throughout Florida and was the adjunct horn teacher at Miami Arts Charter School and Westminster Christian School.


Amber completed her Bachelor of Music degree at Western Illinois University and her Master of Music degree at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. Her teachers include Dale Clevenger, Richard Todd, and Randall Faust.
